Why Dive in Pattaya?

With Pattaya sitting on the edge of the Gulf of Thailand, and only 90minutes from Bangkok, makes it an accessible diving destination. The waters are warm year-round, typically ranging from 28°C to 30°C (82°F to 86°F). Visibility varies depending on the season. The region is home to coral reefs, shipwrecks, and an array of marine life, including colourful fish, turtles, and even the occasional reef shark.

Top Dive Sites in Pattaya

1. Koh Larn (Coral Island)

Approximately 45 minutes away from your departure point at Bali High Pier , Koh Larn is famous for its beautiful beaches and vibrant underwater ecosystem. There are many dive sites around the island, offer stunning coral gardens teeming with tropical fish. The clear waters can make it an ideal spot for both beginner and experienced divers to explore the rich marine life.

2. Hardeep Wreck

The Hardeep Wreck, a former Thai cargo ship, lies at a depth of 30 meters (98 feet) and has become a popular dive site for advanced divers. The wreck is home to an abundance of marine life, including barracudas, groupers, and lionfish. The eerie yet captivating atmosphere of the wreck, combined with the many fish, makes it a must-visit for wreck diving enthusiasts.

3. Koh Sak

Koh Sak is a small island located north of Pattaya and is known for its stunning coral reefs and clear waters. The dive sites here, such as the East and West reefs, are perfect for both snorkelling and scuba diving. Divers can expect to see a variety of marine species, including clownfish, butterflyfish, and hawksbill turtles. The shallow depths make it an excellent choice for beginners.

4. Koh Phai (Pattaya’s Deserted Island)

Koh Phai, also known as Bamboo Island, is part of the Koh Lan archipelago and is known for its pristine dive sites. The waters around the island are home to vibrant coral reefs and a plethora of marine life. The dive sites here offer both shallow and deep dives, making it suitable for divers of all levels. 5. T94 & T95 Wrecks (The Twins)

These 2 wreck were intentionally sunk by the Royal Thai Navy in September 2024, assisting in both marine conservation and tourism. They provide a new marine environment while creating new dive sites. Both wrecks are completely intact and resting upright at a depth of around 26m making it an excellent dive site for advanced divers with deep speciality. Currents can also make this dive site a challenging one.
